Can Time Inc. Survive the Kochs? November 28, 2017 By
..."This year, among the Kochs’ aims is to spend a projected four hundred million dollars in contributions from themselves and a small group of allied conservative donors they have assembled, to insure Republican victories in the 2018 midterm elections. Ordinarily, political reporters for Time magazine would chronicle this blatant attempt by the Kochs and their allies to buy political influence in the coming election cycle. Will they feel as free to do so now?"...

Protests worldwide against war on Gaza

As the Israeil attacks on the Gaza strip intensify and civilian casualties -- mostly women and children -- mount, protest increases world-wide.

The CODEPINK e-list alert, July 22, 2014:

Thursday, July 24, is an urgent National Day of Action for Gaza. Check out these ideas for local actions, www.codepink.org/ActForGaza, and tell Congress to call for a ceasefire now and an end to the siege of Gaza!

In the latest round of violence, 29 Israelis have been killed. Over 600 Palestinians have been killed. Instead of pushing for a ceasefire and an end to the suffocating siege of Gaza, we’ve watched in horror as the US Congress has been busy passing unanimous resolutions to support Israel and allocating even more money for the Israeli military!

Tell Congress: Call for a ceasefire now and an end to the siege of Gaza!

In Gaza, hospitals have been bombed, electricity and water has been cut off, and thousands of people have been displaced from their homes. But even before this latest attack, life in Gaza has been miserable. Over 1.5 million people have been corralled into this overpopulated small strip of land, only 140 square miles, with no control over their borders (land, sea or air). With few ways to make a living and shortages of basic goods and services, they are dependent of UN handouts to survive. There will never be peace until the siege is lifted.

Across the world in over 100 cities, thousands of people have taken to the streets for Gaza. We need action now more than ever! Please join this urgent call to stop the Israeli offensive in Gaza and end the 7-year siege that has made life in Gaza so unbearable, and contact Congress now.

With hope for justice for Palestine,

Please join us this Thursday, July 24, in this urgent call to stop the Israeli offensive in Gaza and end the 7-year siege that has made life in Gaza so miserable. In this latest round of violence, over 500 Palestinians have been killed and thousands are injured.  Seventy-two percent of those are civilians, including over 80 children. One hundred thousand are displaced and living in makeshift shelters; electricity has been reduced to four hours a day for 80% of the population; water has been cut off to hundreds of thousands; sewage is flowing into the sea; hospitals have been bombed and there are shortages of everything from food to medicines. We must act now! - See more at: http://codepink.org/blog/2014/07/urgent-call-for-a-national-day-of-action-thursday-july-24-end-the-assault-on-gaza-and-lift-the-blockade-2/#sthash.Tc7YRc4D.dpuf
