From a March 18 CODEPINK Press Release:
"This action is timed to coincide with the anniversary of the war in Iraq that left that nation in shambles and cost Americans over a trillion dollars and thousands of lives. It also comes on the heels of the reelection of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was recently in Washington to pressure Congress to tighten sanctions with Iran instead of pursuing negotiations.

“With all the dirty tricks to sabotage nuclear negotiations with Iran, it’s time for a spring cleaning session in Congress,” said CODEPINK co-founder Medea Benjamin. “We'll dust away the cobwebs of war and wipe up the bloody fingerprints of AIPAC lobbyists and defense contractors!”
