WLOE e.V. marks 5th anniversary

Since 2002 WLOE has been based in Germany. On September 23, 2003, a German non-profit association was founded, with the English name "Women and Life on Earth" and then in German: "women in international cooperation for peace, ecology and social justice." On September 23rd, 2008, members and friends marked the 5th anniversary of the association, again in the conference room of 'our' office building in Berlin. A first version of the 45 minute film "Women of Planet Diversity" was shown, and those present had a good taste of the special parts of the Planet Diversity demonstration and festival of diversity and the international conference. There was lots of viewer feedback  and suggestions. Sociologist-activist Ute Sprenger presented an overview of current issues around biodiversity and genetic engineering.

And next, in Bonn...
On October 18, 2008, WLOE e.V. will have a membership meeting in Bonn. On the agenda: elections of executive committee members and an official change of the location of the association from Berlin to Bonn. From 6:30 pm friends and those interested will be invited to a special Autumn Evening to benefit Planet Diversity. The final version of the "Women of Planet Diversity" film will be shown. Copies (5€) can be ordered from us at info(at)wloe.org.
Location: Biobauernhof „Gut Ostler“, Burgweg 19, 53123 Bonn-Messdorf

Welcome to WLOE

The Women and Life on Earth internet project began in 1999 to help connect women internationally, share information and work for ecological health and peace with justice in the new millennium.

Women and Diversity

A major project for WLOE in 2008 was helping organize the Festival of Diversity and two women's workshops as part of Planet Diversity. This international event, held in Bonn, Germany in May, brought together experts and activists from around the world working for sustainable, healthy, local and regional food production.
