Environmental factors and non-communicable diseases

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of preventable death and disability, and have environmental causes that can be prevented. A new publication provides the latest international information from leading experts from four perspectives: women’s organisations, health sector, developing countries and trade unions.

WECF, Women in Europe for a Common Future, announces a new publication called "Non-Communicable Diseases and Environmental Determinants" that discusses environmental factors as one of the main causes of preventable deaths.

The 35 page booklet contains valuable articles on sources of environmental pollution that can kill, including dangerous chemicals and radiation.
Download the free booklet here.

"NCDs cause 60 per cent of all deaths worldwide and 18 out of 35 million annual deaths related to NCDs are women. NCDs are the biggest threat to women's health globally, and these diseases are on the rise."
