Can Time Inc. Survive the Kochs? November 28, 2017 By
..."This year, among the Kochs’ aims is to spend a projected four hundred million dollars in contributions from themselves and a small group of allied conservative donors they have assembled, to insure Republican victories in the 2018 midterm elections. Ordinarily, political reporters for Time magazine would chronicle this blatant attempt by the Kochs and their allies to buy political influence in the coming election cycle. Will they feel as free to do so now?"...

Bruce Gagnon interviews peace activist Kathy Kelly

Bruce Gagnon, coordinator of the Global Network Against Weapons & Nuclear Power in Space, interviews dedicated peace activist Kathy Kelly (Voices for Creative Non-Violence) on his "This Issue" public access TV show.

How did Kathy Kelly get involved in peace work? What are the connections between poverty and war? How are people 'on the ground' in Afghanistan affected by the US war? And how is it that US people accept the situation and become "indifferent"? What can we do to oppose the military-industrial complex?

Kathy talks about the situation of people "who bear the brunt" of U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan: "carnage, death, trauma." And her experiences and analysis, including effects on women, who are now "second class citizens" in Afghanistan "while the US is shoring up the Karzai government."

This excellent interview discusses the reality that: "There's no way that we can solve our basic problems at home and keep on feeding the military."
