..."This year, among the Kochs’ aims is to spend a projected four hundred million dollars in contributions from themselves and a small group of allied conservative donors they have assembled, to insure Republican victories in the 2018 midterm elections. Ordinarily, political reporters for Time magazine would chronicle this blatant attempt by the Kochs and their allies to buy political influence in the coming election cycle. Will they feel as free to do so now?"...

Gila Svirsky gives the world a present: 60th birthday website!

Happy Birthday to long-time peace activist and WLOE correspondent from Jerusalem Gila Svirsky. We thank her for her new site.

Gila's site is available under http://www.GilaSvirsky.com.

She wrote:

"Today begins Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year.

Rosh Hashana is also my birthday:

I’m 60 years old, and can’t really believe it.  I was just 40 a minute ago!

To celebrate and launch a new chapter in my life, I have made myself a gift -- a personal website:

http://www.GilaSvirsky.com

Right now it holds two (previously unpublished) books about peace activism, some old and new writing, lots of photos, and a few jokes.  Some day, I hope it will be more honest and less diplomatic.  There - that's my first stab at honesty.

I invite you, my friends, to have a look and share it with others, even consider linking to it.  The site does not yet appear on most search engines until it has been "crawled" and "indexed".  I hope that happens soon.

I send my sincere wishes for a Shana Tova, a good year, and Ramadan Kareem to everyone, most especially to all who live in this troubled region and to all who don't, but are trying to fix it."
