No to NATO – No to war
International Conference, Strasbourg, 3rd and 5th April 2009

In April NATO will celebrate its 60th anniversary in Strasbourg and Baden-Baden. NATO intends to approve a new concept which will sustain the unjust world order. This concept has the aim to guarantee unlimited access to all resources in the world through military power.

NATO is an obstacle for a just and peaceful world. In the beginning of April, peace and globalization-critical movements, left organisations, trade unions, and student organisations will protest against NATO’s aggressive military and nuclear policies, and assert the vision of a just world free of war. The activities during the anti-NATO protest will include an international village of resistance from Wednesday 1st April to Sunday 5th April, direct action and civil disobedience, a demonstration on Saturday 4th April 2009, and an international conference on Friday 3rd and Sunday 5th April,

The international conference will be the opportunity to analyse NATO politics and strategies and discuss alternatives to NATO. It will also provide a space for peace movement to prepare long term actions.
