Can Time Inc. Survive the Kochs? November 28, 2017 By
..."This year, among the Kochs’ aims is to spend a projected four hundred million dollars in contributions from themselves and a small group of allied conservative donors they have assembled, to insure Republican victories in the 2018 midterm elections. New report on USA torture with international help

"'Globalizing Torture' is the most comprehensive account yet assembled of the human rights abuses associated with CIA secret detention and extraordinary rendition operations. It details for the first time what was done to the 136 known victims, and lists the 54 foreign governments that participated in these operations. It shows that responsibility for the abuses lies not only with the United States but with dozens of foreign governments that were complicit."

On February 7th, President Obama's nominee for Director of the CIA went before a Senate committee before confirmation. In their hour-long news broadcast the next day, Democracy Now! featured experts on torture, the CIA and US use of drones, showing how weak the questioning of John Brennan really was. CODE PINK members disrupted the hearing five times, demanding that the names of the victims of US strikes be known, recounting the number of civilian deaths etc., until the entire room was emptied and CODE PINK members arrested or forbidden entry. The Feb. 6th show featured "Amrit Singh, senior legal officer at the National Security and Counterterrorism program at the Open Society Justice Initiative... (and) author of the new report "Globalizing Torture: CIA Secret Detention and Extraordinary Rendition." (The full report can be downloaded from that link.)
