A great gift, and a loss: Grace Paley, 1922 - 2007

Writer-activist Grace Paley made major contributions to literature, education, peacework -- and Women and Life on Earth.

Grace Paley succumbed to cancer on August 22, 2007 at the age of 84. We honor her and will never forget her many years of friendship and support. And her role as co-founder of the first Women and Life on Earth in 1979. Among her many contributions were the drafting of the original WLOE Unity Statement and the Women's Pentagon Action Statement.
She was one of the 1000 women nominated in 2005 for the Nobel Peace Prize for her life of peacework on many levels.

See quotes and links on our page honoring Grace.
