..."This year, among the Kochs’ aims is to spend a projected four hundred million dollars in contributions from themselves and a small group of allied conservative donors they have assembled, to insure Republican victories in the 2018 midterm elections. Shahrzad News reports on protesting mothers in Iran

June 30, 2009: "More than 20 mothers of the people killed in Iran’s recent street protests have been arrested by security forces at Tehran’s Laleh Park."

"The police and security forces had earlier tried to stop the mourning mothers to gather in the Park for a memorial service by violently attacking them and the large sympathetic crowd present on the scene. Those who had managed to get through the police cordons were faced with more security personnel who confiscated and smashed their mobile phones before ordering them to leave the park.

"Those refusing to leave were hit with batons and pepper spray. For the first time in recent disturbances female Baseeji militias took part in the violent assault on the bereaving mothers and were being backed up by the armed riot police believed to be from the Ashura division of the Revolutionary Guards. According to eye witness reports more than 3000 people were taking part in the protest gathering."
