..."This year, among the Kochs’ aims is to spend a projected four hundred million dollars in contributions from themselves and a small group of allied conservative donors they have assembled, to insure Republican victories in the 2018 midterm elections. As the election brings new challenges in a warming world at war, we remember the spirit of an earlier action and look at where we go from here.

"We are gathering at the Pentagon on November 17 because we fear for our lives. We fear for the life of this planet, our Earth, and the life of our children who are our human future..."
from the UNITY STATEMENT of the Women's Pentagon Action, 1980

As a new political era begins in the US, some 'veterans' of The Women's Pentagon Action then and others who have come of age in the shadow of 9/11 will gather to remember that action and 'surround' the Pentagon with statements and video messages from women activists on militarism and violence, and where we go from here in this new era of challenge.

The event is co-sponsored by the Traprock Center for Peace & Justice and the U Mass Amherst Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA). It will take place on Tuesday, November 15th, 2016, in the U Mass-Amherst W.E.B. DuBois Library, 26th floor, with postings following at our website, www.wloe.org
